I just finished my walk-in cooler in my basement. Many thanks to all of the threads on the board related to walk-in's, especially John Beere's.

The space is 7'x4'x5.5' and is cooled by a 10K BTU A/C unit. I spliced into the unit's temp controller and moved it to the outside of the unit to override the auto shutoff.

I use fiberglass insulation between the studs and a 2" polystyrene foam board on all of the walls and ceiling and two layers of the foam board on the floor.

I am keeping it at 40 degrees and it doesn't seem to be kicking on too often. I guess I'll really see once I get my next power bill.

There are a bunch of thread that explain the DIY process much better than I could but I'm happy to answer anyone's questions.
