diy airlock help?

im trying to make an airlock with household materials such as cans and other items as such but I dont know where to go from there, help would be fully appreciated

Try a google search for a blow off hose

instead of an airlock you could do a blow off tube into a jar of sani. Probably easier to construct cause all you need is tubing of some sort.

Otherwise, maybe a bendy straw that you can form into an S to mimic the S-style airlock. There's the condom or balloon with a some holes poked it it thing too.

If I were doing it I'd look at the three piece airlock and try to mimic its shape. Maybe with a can for the outer cylinder. Jam a tube/stem of some sort through that and put a small plastic cup on top. Seal seams with silicon?

Guarantee you someone below me is gonna recommend just buying one. You know cause their like a dollar. But where's the fun in that?

googled blow off hose, and its so simple, I can't believe I didn't think of it! Also the balloon sounds like a good idea too, thanks for the suggestions, I'll get round to trying them soon and the idea with the tubing and can seems quite possible to me!
