Well, I did my first yeast starter today. Really excited because I think my previous poor tasting brews were yeast related.
I learned a valuble lesson, that is you need everyone out of your hair while you brew. Trying to brew while watching a 7 month old is a bad idea. (my wife was home as well)
I made the below mistakes:
Allowed a boil over....many hops floated over the top as I ran to my brew kettle.
Forgot the flame out hop addition (trying to rush). And added them at about 150 degrees....hopefully no infection from the hops. I am cooling down via ICE Bath so they will have some time to hang in there.:smack:
Does this batch have a chance? The plus side is my yeast starter. I decanted this A.M. and topped with Fresh wort so they are super happy.
