I used tablet rennet for the first time today, and it's pretty obvious that it will never completely dissolve. Is this a filler that remains, or am I doing it wrong?
I use tabs all the time. You want to find something to crush the tablet into powder (a pestle and mortar presumably works really well - I use the smooth end of a wooden handle and a small ramekin.

Mine does. I dissolve the crushed tab in distilled water and agitate the water for a few seconds and stir before I add the rennet to the ripened milk... but I am a vegetarian and use only vegetable rennet .
