Used to have a bit of a problem, playing about 10-15 rounds a week, travelled for a few tournaments from Michigan to Kentucky, and played almost all of the courses in the southern Lower Peninsula. Still have all of my discs, and my portable basket, but I rarely play anymore...

lol, that's funny. Bowling Green in KY? A crew from my local club rolls down there every year.

Actually... we have at two Michigan transplants in our club now - they are both way better than me.

Yeah I played Am Nationals like two or three times, it was a ton of fun but such a big time commitment. And as I said, I'm just not as good as I used to be because I don't play daily. I am amazed at how good I still am for how often I play. I used to remember not playing for a week and my putting would be terrible. Now I play 4-5 times a year, and my putting is still pretty solid. I guess that long winter spent putting in the garage paid off after all.....

I havn't played in like 14 months:( Looking at getting back into it as the league here is a bit fractured and Ice Bowl 09 is coming up so I may need to step up if that is to happen. Really need the excercise too;)

Never played any tourneys or in any clubs, just something I do for fun with some good friends. Im going to have to get out a few more times before it gets too nasty out.

This is hole 1 at my closest course near me. Taken last March I believe.

Here's an older shot of the 18th at my regular course. It's now a basket though. I think it's close to a 200 ft drop and 600 ft tee to basket.

I love disc golf... I actually just brewed a 5 gallon batch that I'm gonna bottle and take to our tag league finale in a few weeks.

I went with "Llama Brew"

I brewed a mild a few weeks back (that is currently cask conditioning in my pin) for our upcoming Ice Bowl on Jan 31st.

Good times!!

Not a disc golfer, never tried it. I did go to school with David Feldberg though. We were friends in middle school up until about 10th grade. Boy was he pissed when I made the freshman basketball team and he didn't. I remember him making the comment "You made the team and I didn't?" Yah, taller guys were at a premium I guess :D

Wow. That's cool you grew up with Dave Feldberg. Pretty random. :)

If any disc golf brewers are in the Santa Barbara area, I'm always down for either. I brew about every 2 weeks (AG) and toss the mighty discus about 3-4 times/week. The Goleta Evergreen Course is my local stomping ground.

What's your (you guys') favorite tasty brew on a relaxed day on the course? I go between the random Mexican lager (for hot days) and any number of local brews, IPAs mostly. Almost always a bomber unless a larger group necessitates a shared half case, etc.
I've only had my own brew a couple of times while playing. Don't really know why...I prefer my homebrew from the proper glass, but a specifically disc golf brew might have to make it into the rotation. hmmm....

Dymn hippies with your frisbees and weed. (Do you have any going spare, by the way?)

i play regular golf, does that count? i did see a course around here once, looked pretty crappy though. sounds like its pretty big in the midwest.

Sly Fox cans: Royal Weisse in the summer, Dark Larger in the winter, and both Pikeland Pils and Phoenix Pale Ale mixed in at random times.

I prefer not to have bottles on the course when I play.

Though I took a road trip to play some Maryland courses last weekend and brought dome Lord Chesterfield with me (Yuengling's "ale"). It was cold as heck out out - I am not sure that it hit double digits until after noon at some point. The lord Chesterfield held up fine as they were 12 ouncers... but the Foster's oil cans that one of my buddy's brought always turned into slushies before he was done - lol.

Wow! That's cold! Besides the last couple of days, the last two weeks have been in the 70s on this coast. Great weather for play. Too bad I sprained the hell out of my ankle playing a safari round on Monday though...Won't be able to play for at least another week. That, however, won't stop me from brewing later today!

I recently got interested in disc golf. I don't take it very seriously but it's always fun to take a backpack of beer and a few friends to the course. great way to spend an afternoon.

Bumping for disc golf!

I am taking it up. Just got discs in the middle of week and have only been able to practice at night by throwing at my yard light post.
I also nailed a feral cat with a backhand roller outside of work last night!
Lost my aviar last night on a short roller that hooked somewhere though.
Stupid dark!
I think I'm gonna get some glow discs and a blacklight LED flashlight.
