Not sure where this goes, actually, hope this is right. Electrode is shot on my MW102, and both of the above ones will work. They seem identical in function (longer cable and a storage solution sheath on the MA911B - I think this is the original that came with the meter), and are about a buck apart in price. Anyone know why both are offered by Milwaukee?

Well, just heard back from Milwaukee (that was fast!). The only difference they mentioned is the cable length -
MA911B having 2 m and the SE220 having 1m. Not sure in this case more is always better. I seem to recall being annoyed with a curling cable entangling with the therm probe, etc. What do you guys all prefer?

I actually prefer a highly flexible (supple) cable for tethered devices, but there's never a choice. Whatever the cheapest (and often stiffest) solution is what we get (nowadays). Now when inflexible, length could become a real impediment. Same for stiff and too short. No pun.

OK thanks, Island. Good reasoning that helped quite a bit. I opted for the 1M, the SE220. 2M I found was just a PITA on my "Lab bench" when brewing. (In quotes only because I brew outdoors, and any "lab" is more like a "MASH Unit.").

2 meter (>6 feet!) seems really long for on-counter work. But great when your meter is in a rack or hung up, and your samples are relatively far away.

As you said, longer is not always better.

Oh, I see you went for the shorter one! That would be my choice too.

M*A*S*H* unit, that's a nifty comparison with what we do.
My lab is the kitchen, and I like brewing 5 gallon batches in there, except for spills. Large box fan in the open window above the kettle. And no mosquitos! Some have arrived already.
