diff. with putting attachments onto new thread

I would value some help in spelling out the modus operandi of getting a couple of photos onto a new thread. Thank you

Click the little paper clip in the toolbar then choose the file to upload.

chickypad; clicked "insert link", put in url"s of photos, url's reproduced as url's but can't get pictures to appear. What am I not understanding?

You don't want the "insert link" button for photos, you want the attachments button - i.e. the paperclip not the globe. When you click that there is a pop up box where you can upload the photo from your files or from a url.
