I like to use vodka in my airlock and not star San. I just put a fresh 1 gallon batch of apple juice in a 1 gallon carboy and while I was putting the airlock on I spilled about a third or maybe a quarter of a shot glass of vodka into 1 gallon of juice. The original gravity was 1.059 and I pitched Lalvin 71b-1122 yeast, then spilled the vodka.

I know yeast does not like alcohol so I'm wondering if I ruined the batch?

The night before last fermentation took off and now I have an extremely healthy Olallie berry cider doing it's magic! Thanks for helping me cool my nerves guys...
