Was doing some work in the hop yard yesterday, accidentally snapped the big bulb of the roots out but then buried it back under the dirt. Im hoping it just regrows but if that killed it then ill end up replanting a new one. Its chinook...

Should be okay.

One aspect of hop plant maintenance is periodic cutting back of the root ball. These plant can be resilient.

Really? I know they are strong but If its a second year plant doesn't it now have to establish more roots? I have 5 other ones doing just fine but they are my boys

Plants can often take a beating. I've had plants essentially die, such as left too long in a pot that dried up completely in the sun, and then I put them in the soil and, like, 2 months later it came back.

Beatings are beatings, though. The more serious the damage, the longer the recovery.
