ok guys, put some Star san in one of my other ale pail's about 2 weeks ago to store till bottling day.... pull off the ale pail lid and see some little dark spots on the bottom of the lid and around the top ring of the bucket. kinda like how mold looks. immediately dumped the star san and made a new batch in a clean container of course. then filled rinsed out the lid and bucket in qeustion and put in 4 tbsp of oxyclean (a double batch) and filled up the bucket to soak. question is. did I kill my bucket or should an extended soak of Oxyclean/TSP mix kill off any nasties if indeed it WAS mold starting to form?

As long as you thoroughly clean it and then sanitize it, it'll be fine, just don't forget to sanitize the lid and inside the lip as well.
