I have had a lager going for just over a week at just under 50 degrees. The fermentation was starting to slow down, and then the temp in the garage went up today to about 60 degrees. Considering that the fermentation was already slowing down (1 bubble every 30 secs), do you think I could just use this elevated temp as my diacetyl rest time? Does it need to be a bit warmer for the rest? Does it need to be in the primary longer before rest? Thanks for any help.

A couple days at 60 degrees should do. It's also supposed to suffice if you let it sit on the yeast for several weeks at its fermentation temp.

I've got enough beer going right now I'm just leaving it sit on the yeast for several weeks at 50 degrees to clean up.
