Design or Coincidence?

Is by design or coincidence that White Labs Yeast and Fermentations sits on Candida Street...
and that there is a yeast called "Candida"?

For those of us who didn't know, Candida (Candida Albicans) is the cause of, among other things,
Vaginal yeast infections.

Certainly, as a student of yeasts, Chris White must have been aware of this when the location was being considered....

Is this curious...
or have I been without a cold one for too long?

Maybe it was re-named after the business took off. Ive seen plenty of thoroughfares renamed after a big business has been established.

Though, if it were renamed, you would have thought they would have gotten the Genus correct (saccharomyces instead of candida).

Or maybe White found it and said, F it, we are starting here. Its close enough.

I like to pretend they scoured the country for a street that happened to be appropriately named, and then moved there.

Seems plausible.

When I was in college I lived on Cumming Street. It was called that before I moved there, but I feel like I did my part.

Probably a private road. An industrial or commercial condo site. I've helped people rename private roads in those complexes to something that matches the business.

I went to a Bass Pro Shop in Houston that was located on Basspro Drive.

I'm pretty sure that was just serendipity.

They are putting a Cabelas on the Northwest side and now one of the roads that leads to it is called Cabelas Lane

That Bass Pro Dr is a really long street to go from Houston to Grapevine.
