Density Question

I am interested in building a RIMS system similar to https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/rims-dummies-114997/

what is the reason that you would use a low density verse high density element. If someone could explain it would be greatly appreciated.

assuming i understand it correctly, high density vs low density refer to the power / unit area.... high density would mean high power output to a small area, meaning higher surface temperature on the element = scorching. Low density and ultra low density elements have more area for the same power output and thus have lower surface temperatures.

Thank you for the input...I am currently working on a duel heating (gas and RIMS) system...I especially like this system https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/simple-brewing-est-2009-build-147021/ with some changes.
