I made a pale ale with dennys fav 50 and had an OG of 1.072. I am trying to ferment at 50F and after three days there is no sign of fermentation starting. Today I added yeast nurient to help things along. I know the normal temp range for this yeast is 60-75. Will I have any success at getting this going at 50 or will I just have to raise the temp to get it going. I pitched with a 250ml starter.

Raise the temp. Fermenting that much lower than the recommended temps will stress out your yeast and cause problems.

You will want to raise it to 65 I think. I pitched at 58 and it never started until I raised it to 65. Then after several weeks it only got to 1.030 from 1.062. I raised it to 70 and swirled the yeast and it didn't help. I ended up racking it onto a US-05 cake from another beer and it finished out. I think I'll use 1450 it in the summer when I can keep it at 70 or so. I fermented last summer at 73 and it turned out great. Good luck!

Yes, better warm it up. I keep Denny's between 63-65F ferment temp. Works well at that range, but I think below 60 it's going to go dormant.
It's my new house yeast FWIW

after adding the yeast nutrient it still wasn't doing anything today at 50F so I moved it inside the house and it will be at 70F shortly. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks for the advice.

Yea I tried to use Denny's at like 58-60F and it finished high, I'd say mid 60's is a safe bet.
