Does deionizing water remove chlorine and chloramine? There's a service outside of my local grocer that allows you to pick up deionized water (in 5-gallon containers) and I'm wondering if this stuff is safe to run a brew day on. Any thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Yes it does but remember it contains no ions (chlorine, sodium, etc) so you might need to make some gypsum + CaCl2 additions to get your mineral levels correct. Look at the brewing science threads. -Matt

yeah, DI water has NOTHING in it. It doesn't even taste good if you taste it. I would try some R.O. instead, as you will have to re-add less to it to get what you want.
