Hi All - first post and relatively new to brewing, but thought I’d share this set up in case it helps others. I jumped right in to all grain using brew in a bag and just finished my 3rd brew. I’ve read various posts about using a pulley system for BIAB and what I use is a gambrel that I normally use for cleaning deer and have repurposed it for BIAB. My bag from brewinabag.com has loops that are sewn in that slide through the hanger. These typically run about $40 at Cabelas/Bass Pro, but there are cheaper versions out there as well. Frankly, I find the pergola far more impressive!

jk....I have used those type block and tackle multiple pulley hoists for years doing many things from hoisting engines to storing small boats. They work amazingly well, you’re doing good!

I do prefer a ratchet pulley for BIAB, as you can remove the bag slowly a couple clicks at a time allowing the bag to drain as it leaves the kettle. Also, you don’t need to keep a grip on the business end of the rope or tie it off to suspend the bag...

If you are brewing with some regularity I would suggest you add a dedicated tie off spot.

Good points on both the ratchet pulley and the tie-off anchor. Tie-off anchor definitely will be added soon.
