Decide what i brew next

Can't get stone ipa here. I tried it at a beer festival in September and had to get back in line 3 more times. Soooo good!

Ive got a 2 hearted and Arrogant bastard fermenting right now.I would brew the lagunitas, i dont think ive had their regular ipa but had many of their others.I dont think stone ipa fits in this category, i would consider it in a lower bracket- thats just me,i dont think ive had that rogue ipa you mentiond either.

I might just try this on my next batch. Any idea of what the expected SG is on this so that I can adjust for my efficiency?


Since I have crystal 15, I will use that...split the difference.

Thanks. My brew day on this got delayed, now looks like next Monday at best. On the good news front, my SN Celebration is only a couple days away from (forced) carbing, so it should be ready for a super bowl party.

did a side by side last night. color and smell were similar. flavor, not so much. i'm still not treating my water except to remove clorine/chloramine. after tasting this beer there is a similar taste to my english pale. i'm guessing it is something in my water. my wife said she liked mine better!

Which yeast did you use? I think cultured Bells is the only way to go here. It's really a fantastic yeast for IPA's (and a lot of other beers as well).

i ended up using the White Labs California Ale V. next time i will grab their yeast and see the difference it makes.

It's well worth the effort. I have used it in 3 different styles already with 2 more on deck. I really like this yeast.
