160K BTUs for $18.77 Wow! At that price, it's worth it just for the burner, hose & regulator.

Propane Cooker at Academy

Never seen an Academy store... If anyone is picking one up, wanna get another and ship it to me??

You can always buy online. I bought one of these from the Academy store in Mesquite, TX. I was going to get one from Home Depot or Lowe's, but I stopped by to get some shoes and my wife saw them and pointed them out. When I saw the price tag I went ahead and bought it.

From what ive read on this site they dont sell products online for shipping... too bad, this is a great deal.

Not to be a naysayer, but have you filled your brew pot and put it on the burner (cold) to see if it holds the weight? Those legs look kind of weak. Then again, it's always hard to tell by a picture with nothing available for size reference.

I think Ed was talking about just using it for the burner itself, hooking that up to a more-robust setup. I was thinking the same thing, I wouldn't be trying to balance a big brewpot on that thing.

The one that I bought is pretty sturdy, but it is a little bit different from the one in the picture. I used it two weekends ago and it worked like a champ. I don't do full boils so I can't say without a doubt that it'll hold a kettle plus 5+ gallons of wort, but it didn't have a problem with the three gallon boil that I did. I'll post a pic of the one that I got from Academy after I get home from work.

Here's a pic of the one that I got from Academy. Like I said it is a little different from the one in the picture.

As for strength, I stood on it (I weight 180 lbs) and it didn't bend or break.

Sweet. I think I saw the same brand at Home Depot but I was worried about the legs being flimsy.

Off to Home Depot I go... :D

I already had a stand with a lower BUT burner, so the high pressure hose and the burner were all I needed. (That and a tank to hook up to it)
As it turns out I already had a 160K BTU burner, jjust with a low pressure hose, which wasn't giving me the full output.
