The Frolicking Cat Barrel Aged Manhattan (from Lognar and @MrsLognar)

Bourbon. Cherry. Tannin. Smooth.

Felt like a change after drinking a fair bit of beer over the past two weeks, so I'm killing Batch 1 of Logan's amazing first attempt at a barrel aged manhattan. Just an absurd cohesive blend of bourbon / bitters / vermouth, and you can taste the experimentation / time / effort that went into testing this one. I think I'm spoiled on "regular" manhattan's now as they aren't going to be this good on average.

Can't wait to try Batch 2 in a few months!

Also tosh the DDT isn't dead, and as long as I'm on the site it'll be my place to throw random 4 word reviews and pictures on a nightly basis.

Cheers!

Jefferson's Ocean Voyage 11

Boozy. Harsh. Vanilla. Thin.

Had a family friend leave this bottle at the house on Christmas Eve, and I've been pulling it out for guests who are bourbon drinkers since that time. Figured I've give it a go this evening, and even aside from the gimmick of aging it at sea, it is just not my thing. Thing, harsh boozy character, touch of vanilla, and very thin. Wonder if I'd feel the same way trying it blind and removing the nonsense gimmick from my mind, but alas it is not my thing.

They can't all be winners.
