Both of these live up to the hype, I have yet to have even a “meh” from Great Notion.

Blueberry Muffin is supposed to be a sour, but it’s very mellowed out from the adjuncts. I liked this a lot.

Heard great things about Double Stack, but I’ve been let down by so many Maple stouts. Not this one. I will definitely be seeking this out again.

Revolution Straight Jacket

Bourbon. Vanilla. Caramel. Sweet.

Down to my last two cans of Straight Jacket that I grabbed at the release, and it's just as good today as it was then. Bourbon / vanilla barrel character blends with caramel sweetness, touch of booziness, and a really fantastic mouthfeel with just enough carbonation. Can't wait for VSOJ to be released this fall.

Have a random Wednesday off tomorrow. Got invited to play in a vendors golf outing. Considering I haven’t played in 3 years it should be interesting. Have one more can of this and thinking I should bring it along tomorrow.

It is weird being sixteen hours ahead and seeing you guys live post from yesterday. It is noon on Wednesday right now.

Selling point to come to Korea. Ten of us drank at a bar for over an hour. Shots, beers and apps for under fifty bucks.

How old is too old for this? I can't seem to keep black note for very long

Hard to say. 1. I’m surprised at both how well this held up and just how damn good it was. I had the 750ml bottle with about 5 years on it twice. One was phenomenal. The other was well past its prime. YMMV I guess. 2. I haven’t been as impressed with the last couple batches of Black Note. Thinner and less robust as earlier versions would make me think extended aging is unwise.

Followed up with a week old beer that is just as good in its own way

Raspberry Field Blend.

Had a bottle of this back in February and it was straight jammy spritzy berry sour. Now it's much more complex with a nice Brett funk lingering in the background. It was good then, it's really good now.
