Today is bottling day according to the LHBS's instructions. I'm going to let it sit till at least Monday before bottling.

Color is a very nice golden. Good head retention in the test tube. Gonna drink the sample and see how it tastes.

what is it and whats the recipe? lhbs's directions are wrong ifthey say bottle after 4 days.

give it another week at the least if you do not want to wait to bottle, but if you can stand it, give it 2-4. your yeastie friends have a lot of cleanign up to do

Its Cooper's european lager LME

1lb corn sugar
1lb pilsen light malt extract Dry

kit yeast

been in primary since Monday.

After much reading here, I'm going to keep it in primary at LEAST till Monday so the yeast can flocculate and clean up. Its a one bucket kit. (unless I buy another bucket today.

patience is a virtue, my friend.

so is willpower. honestly, one of the hardest things i have ever done was not crack open a bottle of my most recent brews yesterday as they are not ready.

Instead of bottling on Monday, brew another one.
wait for 3 weeks in primary, then bottle (if you can resist). Your output will be much better.

If you've done any reading around here, you will find lots of advice to wait.

Go ahead, though. We can't reach through the screen and make you wait.

But - I will suggest something to you - set a few bottles aside - then make another batch, same recipe, fermented in the low to mid 60s, and all the other advice you read here. Let it sit in your fermenter a month. Then let it sit in your bottles a month. Then compare the two...

I am definitely going to let it sit.

So far, its a tastey brew! of course it smells a little yeasty right now but its smooth, crisp, and has a nice hoppy finish. I liken the flavor to Sam Adams Boston Lager but with a lighter color. So far its a success in my book.
