I am goin to be brewing the Dead Ringer IPA from NB this weekend:

SPECIALTY GRAIN
-- 1 lbs Briess Caramel 40
FERMENTABLES
-- 9.15 lbs Gold malt syrup
HOPS & FLAVORINGS
-- 1 oz Centennial (60 min)
-- 1 oz Centennial (20 min)
-- 2 oz Centennial (5 min)
-- 1 oz Centennial (Dry hop)

And I happen to have extra stuff laying around:

1 lb. light DME
2 oz. Amarillo pellets
2 oz. Cascade pellets
2 oz. Chinook pellets
Maltodextrin

Should I mess with adding any of the latter? Or don't mess with a good thing?

It's a 2-hearted clone, and 2-hearted is one of my favorite single-hop ales, so I'd leave it as-is unless you just wanted to up the ABV and try to keep it in balance by bittering a tad more or something

One oz dry hop is not much for an IPA. Seems a lot around here do 2-3 oz, I always do 3 and love it. Those Cascades will work very nicely in the dry hop.

So I brewed this last night, and couldn't help myself. I did everything almost as planned but added 1 oz Amarillo at 40 min and 1oz. at 10 min. in addition to the regular hops schedule. I also added half the LME and an additional 1 lb. of light DME at flameout. I plan to dry hop with 2 oz Cascade and the 1 oz. Centennial I have left. I used 1 1/2 packets of Safale US-05 re-hydrated. Pitched around 10 pm last night and had a good airlock activity this morning @ 67 degrees. Hopefully comes out well, but only time will. OG came out at 1.082.
