Danby Kegorator Issue

My girlfriend got me a used Danby kegorator off of craigslist. The problem is that the digital temperature controller on the front has crapped out and doesn't do anything now and as a result it wont keep anything cold. I believe that the compressor is still good and it is only the controller that is busted. Does anyone have any experience fixing these things?

I was thinking that I could just splice the two wires going into the controller together and then use the temperature controller from my lagering fridge to circumvent the controller on the kegorator.

Does anyone think that this will work?

I use the A419 temp controller with my Danby kegerator and it works great. It overrides the stock controller and allows the fridge to hit whatever temp I need. I would suggest buying one of these and trying it out.

How do you get around the temp control on the danby? If I short the wires on the PCB (printed circuit board) will the compressor kick on and then I can use a separate temperature controller?

Bumping/resurrecting because I have the same question.

Control board on a kegerator is fried, but the compressor is good. Can I completely swap the stock board for a Love controller or something similar. or even one of these 110V All-purpose Temperature Controller STC1000?

I actually solved this issue. I bought a temperature controller like this one and wired it inline before the compressor, disconnecting the danby electronics. I'm not at home to check right now but I believe if you open the panel on the bottom right hand side (facing from the front) there will be a few wires going into the compressor. I think I wired the temperature controller into the red wire and now it works quite well. The only thing I would caution you on is the fan which blows across the refrigeration stuff (looks like a AC compressor). Make sure you wire that into the temperature controller too or the fan will stay on constantly.
