Hello! I'm new to brewing. Probably on my 12th or 13th extract batch. Finally started getting the swing of things so I wrote my own recipe to begin an ongoing work in progress.
I brewed this a month ago. When I tasted it on bottling day I realized I used way too much extract, and not enough hops. I cut the extract to 1/3, tripled the honey to 3lb, and increased all the hops to 1oz (they were all 0.5 oz.) I also added a bit of crystal 0.40 and doubled the yeast. Here is the revised extract recipe I just finished brewing tonight, any feedback would be greatly appreciated:
Honey Ale
0.9 lb Crystal 10L
0.5 lb Honey Malt
0.3 lb Crystal 40L
2 lb Light DME
3 lb Light LME
1 oz Magnum @ 60
1 oz Centennial and 1 Whirlfloc tablet @ 15
1 oz Centennial @ flame-out
Dry-hop with 2 oz Simcoe
3 lb Clover Honey @ flame-out
2 packets of 1450
OG: 1.041
Thanks!
Karl
