With 12 batches under my belt, I figure it's time to start experimenting a little bit ![Eek! ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
I've done both extract and AG, but I don't have much time this go 'round so I'd like to try my hand at writing an American Brown extract recipe. Last few browns have been a bit malty and finished too high for my taste, so I'm using 05 to get a cleaner profile.
Any obvious flaws in this baby? Figure it would be best to start simple...
Batch size: 5.5 gallon
Boil size: 6.3 gallon
7lbs. Amber LME (half at 60 min./half at 15 min.)
1lb. Crystal 80L
.25lb Chocolate
1.5 oz Wlliamette @ 60
1 oz Fuggle @ 30
.5 oz Amarillo @ 5
Yeast: US 05
