Can 100% cranberry juice work? I tried mixing cranberry juice with apple juice and my usual concoction of fermentables, that was 2 days ago and still no movement in the airlock.

I'm pretty certain you alway want grape or apple added to whatever you are brewing. Grapes and Apples naturally have lots of tannins.
2 days is not very long. Give it a week before you worry. How did you pitch it? Dry yeast strait in? Liquid yeast? It matters how you pitch it. Of course regardless of how you pitch it, once it starts it goes.
