Had one of these Sam Adams offerings yesterday. Though I enjoyed the beer the odor and taste (minus the cranberry) reminded me of a bad batch of beer I brewed that I wrote off as ruined by chlorophenols ( it never improved with time, got worse actually). I realize there's a difference between chlorophenol and phenol but would the SA Cranberry Lambic be described as phenolic? Was that what I smelled and is it normal for the style?

Psh, that's not a lambic. That's a mid-tier beer with some cranberry juice in it.

I know it's not an authentic lambic. It says it's their take on one. How bout the phenol part though
