My cows got into my hops. Only chinook has survived.

RIP centennial, sorachi ace, and teamaker.

Side note: can I dig up the rhizomes and replant elsewhere? This fall or next spring?

I dug up a bunch of neo rhizomes last fall that all turned out to be male. So I went back two weeks ago a dug up a KNOWN plant. I planted it in my yard. On the way home the water spilled and the thing dried up. Looked at it a week later and it has little green buds popping out.

Hops are incredibly resilient. If you want to move them to keep the cows out I would do it now. They will take a hit but they will start off better next spring and get some root growth in this year.

Time for a steak Dinner paired with your favorite brew.

Cows can be a pain in the arse. Move the plants or put up an electric fence, you can use cheap fiberglass posts and a small gauge wire,.
