Hey all,

Just getting started in this great hobby and excited to brew my first. I have a million questions floating around but two specific ones for today:

1. I just acquired a frost-free/auto defrost upright freezer for fairly cheap that I plan to convert to a fermentation chamber with a love controller. Do I need to worry about a drain pan if the temps in the freezer will never get low enough to create frost?

2. My kegerator is a converted mini fridge that will only hold 2 cornys max. Once primary and secondary fermentation are complete, do I need to refrigerate the beer immediately, or can it sit for another few weeks at fermentation temps until there's room in the kegerator?

Thanks much for any and all help offered...

Thanks for the fast reply. To clarify, is the second yes an answer to a) do I have to refrigerate or b) can it sit at fermentation temp?

Your beer can sit at fermentation temperatures after being kegged. If you were bottling, you'd let the bottles condition for several weeks minimum, usually at ale-fermentation temperatures.

yeah, my keezer lid doesn't seal that well so i get a ton of water.

tore it apart and cleaned it this week, I'm gonna build a new collar this weekend.
