I have a recipe that calls for 3.5 HBUs of perle hops. I think I have this figured out, but could someone double check it please? and if it is not correct, could you explain how to do it correctly?

so, if I have 1 oz of perle at 6.5% alpha that would be 6.5 HBUs?

Which means to get 3.5, I would use .54 of an ounce to get 3.51 HBUs which is my target? Is this correct?

Thanks!

This is correct. It's been a long time since I've heard of anyone using HBU's.

Thanks! Yeah I’m looking at some recipes from Charlie p’s homebrewers gold book. I guess it makes sense.
