On craigslist; Pin $35, Ball $50

Pretty much the going rate. You could find them cheaper with effort, and some people charge more but those prices are pretty standard (at least where I am).

Sent from my iPhone using the sweet Home Brew app, cuz I'm a ****** and I need everyone to know that I have an iPhone as if everyone else in the world doesn't have one.

35-40 bucks for a pin lock. A bit more for ball lock.

Difference in those two links? One is shinier than the other? Maybe the shiner, more expensive one has valves with replaceable poppets... Not clear in the description though!

It appears the cheaper one is a pin-lock with ball-lock fittings. It says it has a 10" diameter while most ball-locks are a little over 8" diameter.

The reason I went with ball-locks is because they are skinnier and taller than pin-locks so I could fit more kegs into the space available in my keezer. Everyone has their own issues to deal with so you may decide you can use pin-locks just as easily as a ball-lock. If so, then going with them would save you some bucks. Take a look at the space you have to work with and then decide which style keg will work best for you.

Cheers! :mug:

p.s. You can get decent used kegs for a lot less than the price of new.
