Hello

I know a bottling bucket would be best but right now im just not ready to do that..im bottling all different sizes today so im adding corn sugar to each bottle. my question is: how much corn sugar do i add to a 500ml (im thinking half a tsp?..im not sure if its 500ml but it fills a pint size glass), 1ltre, and a 2ltre bottle?? couldnt really find a thread.. since most people don't do it this way.. any ways and help would be great thanks!!! :mug:

I would almost say it is impossible, but;
What is the volume you are getting ready to bottle? How many volumes of CO2 do you want in each bottle?

What do you have against bottling buckets?

A 5 Gallon food-grade bucket is $4 at Home Depot. Drill a hole in it and put a $3 spigot on from your LHBS.

i have a bucket im just scared to make it, dont wanna risk screwing up a batch..

It's way easier to calculate how much to add to the whole lot, than to try and figure out per each bottle. And doing it by the bottle stands a greater chance of messing it up IMO.

If I am relatively close to a full 5-gals, I don't even calculate it. 2/3c of cane sugar to 2 1/4c water and boil it down to 2c, cool it and dump it in the bucket and rack over the top of it and you're ready to bottle.

sorry for my bad knowledge of home brew slang but when you say rack over the top that means siphon from the bottom of the bucket going out the top of the bucket to the bottles? also do i give it a little stir once the brew goes into the bucket or will that cause huge foam?

i have 6.07596 gallons of brew and the guy at my local brew store said to add a 1 cup to 1/12 cup?? i want a decent carbonation.. any suggestions?

Yeah, siphoning. If you do that over your primer (make sure your siphon goes all the way to the bottom of your bottling vessle), and it will usually get mixed up enough on its own. Doing this I have never had to stir it, and have never had a problem.

From there. If you have a spigot with a small length of hose is good for bottling, I just use my racking cane for bottling.

yes, i do have a racking cane.. ok cool this is gonna be a great attempt :D if this goes well its gonna save me sooooo much time wow!!!
