What is the best way to cork a Belgian bottle? Do you run the cork all the way in and let carbination push it out to the wire hood? Or only put the cork in half way so it just fits under the wire hood?

Found this on a site about corking belgians

Corks for Belgian-style ales. 23.5 mm fits American champagne bottle with 16.5 mm opening. (This bottle will accept a standard 26 mm American crown.) 25.5 mm fits bottle with 18.5 mm opening. For example, Duvel, Chimay, Unibroue bottles. To be sure, simply send us a bottle or measure the bottle opening with calipers.

~16-19 mm of cork should be left outside the bottle.

If you are using mushroom corks you have to use a smaller wire cage I think.

Thanx. I noticed some of the corks on the Belgians I bottled getting really tight under their wire hoods. This might be a good indication that they're carbinating up just fine.
