I use a SS boil pot but also have an aluminum pot that is great at cooling but not so great at boiling. Is there a downside to transferring my just boiled wort to the aluminum pot for cool down in an ice bath? I can take 5 gallons to 75 degrees in just under 20 minutes with that guy.

As long as it's clean and sanitized you should be fine. Pouring boiling wort into it will probably be sanitizing enough but I would probably sanitize it ahead of time just to be safe.
