I just finished my second batch today. A Cherry American Ale. After the boil I was able to cool the wort to 75 degrees in 11 minutes. Is this fast enough or do I need to improve.

Thanks
Eddie

Are you hear to brag?
I'm pretty sure that's fast enough, probably even more than fast enough...

no im not. im just really new to this.

sorry
Sometimes it's hard to get sarcasm to come through on these intertubes, but I'm pretty sure 10 minutes is more than fast enough. I'd hope someone with more smarts than me would chime in, but I think most people are satisfied with chilling from boiling to fermentation temps within 30 minutes or so, depending on the circumstances.

I was excited to get my 2.5 gallon batch down to 75 - 80 in 20 minutes the other day. I used an ice bath with 16 lbs of ice and towards the end a few frozen water bottles, in previous batches I guess I didn't have enough ice. Next time I'll probably use more.
