Hi everyone. I have a picnic tap with 10ft of hose that works very well but the plastic picnic taps break easily it seems. I purchased this today Draft Brewer® Snap Tap - Ball Lock

It works alright but even after purging all co2 from the keg headspace the beer is slightly too foamy. I'd love to use this snap tap with 10 ft of hose. Can someone point me to the right connectors or at least the terminology I could use to search? The ball lock seems to have a standard threaded output but is missing the adapter to 3/16 line. The tap itself has a female version of that.

Thanks in advance.

I expect the adapter at the base of the faucet is a 1/4" FFL, screwed onto a QD that is 1/4" MFL.

That provides some possibilities: pick up one 1/4" MFL - 1/4" MFL fitting that looks like this:

and a couple of 1/4" nylon flare washers (use one, keep the other as a spare):

And finally a pair of 1/4" FFL Push-To-Connect adapters, with the tubing side spec'd for the OD of whatever tubing you're going to use.
This Duotight PTC fitting is for the 8mm OD EVAbarrier tubing that is the rage these days:

With all the parts in hand:

  • Place a washer on one end of the MFL-MFL fitting and thread it tight into the faucet.
  • Screw on one of the PTC connectors onto the other end of the fitting - no need for a flare gasket, the PTC fitting is self-sealing.
  • Screw the other PTC connector onto the QD stem - again, no need for a gasket here, either.
  • Finally, stuff your tubing ends into the two PTC connectors.

Cheers!
