After a year+ of gathering parts, I finally finished wiring up the control panel for my all electric 50 Amp 1.5 barrel system.

She'll be firing a 3 vessel 55 gallon stainless setup with 5500/4500W elements in the BK and HLT. There will be 10 motorized 12V valves for flow control, and all pumps/elements/valves have auto/on/off control for manual or BCS-462 control. Can't wait to fire it up!

I still need to add tags to label the controls though, anyone have any suggestions in that department? I have seen those laser etched tags and they look nice but I was wondering Is there any DIY way to do it that looks good?

Beautiful work, i would go with the kind of labels they use in airplane cockpits.

What do they use in the airplane cockpit? Is that similar to the engraved tags? I ordered some clear vinyl decal paper and I think I'm going to give that a shot, maybe print the text in white ink . I was thinking custom tags at first , but with the decals I could add artwork or a valve diagram etc. and not be limited by the size of the tags. It doesn't hurt that they're a bit cheaper to, between the cost of outfitting the barrels, stand, and the control panel this project is starting to add up! It's coming time to produce some beer Lol!

Yes, i thought about the black engraved labels. But your idea with white ink on clear vinyl is great, i will check back to see how it looks.

A little accesory to my panel that might fit the concept of brew porn..

A screenshot of the BCS desktop @ 1920x1080 running on a 27" screen off a Rpi 2. Connected wireless to my panel (currently undergoing renovations). All parts repurposed.

Hoping to add a touchscreen, but all control at a glance.

Been awhile, but the new system is working great. Figured I'd post up some pics! Cheers!

Are those industrial oil barrels or what? They totally dwarf the bucket on the ground.

But do you know that in theory, your pumps are oriented the wrong way, inlet should be below outlet.

Huh, interesting. I never realized that about the pumps. They work pretty good as they are, but I do occassionally have to use the manual bleed off valves next to each of the pumps to get them going.

I may have to look into turning them sideways or moving underneath. I'd probably have to rethink the location of the bleeder valves in that case though.

The barrels are 55 gallons, although they do look massive on my stand. 2" square stock was a little bit overkill, but you could park a mack truck on top of it, which is always good when 50 gallons is boiling next to you :)
