Here is my thought buy 2x 1/6 kegs from beer supplier (for party). The deposit is $30 for each one... i am thinking of just keeping them from homebrew.

Next question is i have no co2 tank yet. Can I use my nitrogen to pressurize just for dispensing during the party or do i need to use a hand pump?

Thanks

Lol... i asked the guy at the place he said sure. Is it steeling to not return your beer cans... etc?

That guy doesnt own the kegs, the brewing company does. And the difference between the cans and a keg is about $149.98 (guesstimate).

OK... I see your point. My question is instead of using hand pump, can I use straight nitrogen and if that runs out can I use compressed air. If so whar psi? Thanks

If there a a homebrewing group in your area you should be able to get new 1/6th barrel kegs for around 80 with shipping if you do a group buy. If that is not an option you could try GW Kent or Geemacher. I bought 3 1/6th kegs and they only came to about 105 with shipping a piece, really not too much worse than Corny kegs.

Also I would not recommend nitrogen or compressed air. Either go with the hand pump keg tap or get CO2.

I disagree. The hand pump will give you the same result as compressed air, but with more work. Nitrogen will do the same thing but with no oxidation. Neither is ideal, but you're fine if the keg will be kicked the same day. Otherwise you'll get loss of carbonation and some oxidation. Just keep the pressure as low as you can while still being able to dispense.

Yeah, co2 or beer gas (if stout faucet). I just got schooled on partial pressures of gases and gasses in solution.

FWIW, if you "borrow" a keg from BMC, I'll forgive you. They're richer than money.
