First recipe I made by myself, kind of took a Rye IPA recipe and toyed with it. Any comments?

Looks pretty good. You are a little light on the hops for an IPA. You might want to be a little closer to the upper-30 IBUs if you are looking for a distinctly hoppy taste. As-is, unaltered, it'll make a very balanced beer, I think it looks great.

Check out this recipe: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=27673 - it's one of Biermuncher's American Pale Ale recipes. If you look about halfway down the page, there's a Gravity/Hops Ratio chart. (It's posted elsewhere too, I just default to any of BM's recipes when I can't find it :D) I use this chart abusively whenever I am planning a brew.

Rye IPA? Try this on for size :p)

I'm making that already.
Figured I make a low grav version.
Though I'm using cascade in lieu of the Mt. Hood.
Hop shortage, etc.

What are you looking for in the finished beer? If it's a combo of lower abv, body and hop/bitterness your on track...into the pale/apa ranges.

FWIW, I switched out the dry hop on the orig recipe for the same reason :mug:

Im making the original recipe and the one I posted.
1) The original recipe is pretty expensive. (Tight budget, heh)
2) I want to stock up on something that isn't as heavy as the IPA for the summer, since the temperature is sort of prohibitive to brewing.

I just threw the original recipe together as I ordered, figured it would be balanced and all. Just wanted to know if I went to heavy on certain things, or if I were making something sort of obscure.

Let me put it this way: Your version looks both good enough and simple enough that I'm thinking about trying it.

In other words, brew on. :D
