This is my first MLT build, I built a copper mainfold with a simple design, and I am getting about four cups of deadspace when I test it out, is this a lot? Any tips on how I might improve the design?
I have the same setup with a manifold that looks very similar. Mine works great on brews from 5-10 gallons ( haven't tried anything larger) so im thinking you should be fine.
Great - reading around, the consensus is that a quart of dead space isn't the end of the world, and there will be grain taking up some of that space anyway. Glad to hear you like this for five gallon batches, I was beginning to worry that it might be too big for 11# of grain.
