I had the cold mountain ale (or cold mountain winter ale?) from highland this year. and it was effin AMAZING! anybody know whats in it? its got to have some kinda spice. its got this creamy vanilla nutmeg thing going on that is ridiculous. i can't quite put my finger on what it is but i want it in all of my beers and everything i ever drink ever again. anyone know of a clone?:ban:

the only thing I know about that beer (I did have it once a year or so ago) is that they change the spices every year. I think the base beer is probably a set recipe, but it'll taste different every year because of the spices.

:( i really wanna know what that spice is... ****. now i have to do a bunch of trial and error.

Yeah def cream soda like - it is almost like a liquid cookie to me. As Walker said the spicing does change every year. Best bet is to just email the brewers, but since they are from Highland I doubt you will get a response - worth a shot though.

yeah. i mean, i love that beer. but im almost more interested in just finding out what spices are there than actually recreating that recipe. maybe i will try to email them.
