Just a quick note on this subject....

I have a chance to pick up a FREE Coke Cola 2 door sliding cooler. The it has power (lights and fan) but it doesn't keep cold. Has any experienced these and is there a way to covert them into a fermentation cooler maybe with an A/C unit or something? Or do you think it would be worth trying to get fixed?

I have 24 hours to pick it up if I want it.

Ideas???

Had trouble reading that but I think you meant it didn't cool? If not do you know if the unit is toast or is it just the thermostat? If it is the thermostat, sure take it, if the rest isn't working I wouldn't bother.

Definitely does NOT stay cold. They say it did at one point in time but has stopped.
My only thought was it I could mount an A/C unit into the back wall of the cooler to keep cool enough to use a a fermentation cooler.

Well it IS free... if you want to get it to mess with why not? My first shot would be try an external thermostat and see if that is the problem. If the wiring is on the back of the unit bypass the internal one all together in case it is totally FUBAR.
