Just got a great deal on a freezer with a dent in it at Home Depot. The problem is it wont close all the way with my 25lb co2 tank. The question is does my co2 tank need to be in the freezer? Why or why not. Whats the benefits to this. Can I just keep my kegs in the freezer and the co2 under my bar like most bar rooms do.

Sure, you can do that. The folks that have their tank in the freezer/kegerator just do that so they don't have to drill a hole in their fridge/freezer.

I kept my tank inside when it was a 10# tank, but my 20# tank won't fit so I had to drill. I drilled through the bottom of the door, where I knew there were no refrigerant lines.
