Co2 Regulator Tap Rite - No pressure

Hi all,

I believe I’ve made the mistake to take off the bonnet and cap as it was sticky over time due to beer spill. When I washed it I believe I’ve remove some glue/residue that made the bonnet turn. I have not damaged any parts while dissembly but now, the cap/bonnet does not seem to be able to grip and modify the pressure. The regulator gauge shows 0 psi. Is this an easy fix or do I need to purchase the bonnet/cap replacement. Note that the cap is not stripped... and I am clueless on what to do to fix this.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your replies, I am not missing any washers and I did look at that diagram from tap rite. Seems like the bonnet (metal screw) is not turning when turning the cap. My conclusion is that the bonnet does not grip to the cap when I am pulling it to change the pressure. There seems to be some grey ish residue that acts as glue that I could be lacking. Cap isn’t stripped. I am under the impression then when I am pulling the cap to arrange pressure, the bonnet is not pulled... any idea what that residue is? At this point would be worth a try rather then buying a replacement kit.

There is no glue. It sounds to me like the back of the plastic knob is stripped. If you turn the knob knob but the metal shaft doesny turn, that is the only explanation. Get a replacement knob.

I was able to remove the knob and that solved the issue. I am currently using an Allen key to adjust pressure. A temporary solution till I get replacement cap. Thanks for all the answers and help!
