I got a co2 tank that was pre filled with my keg kit. It has a gas gauge on it, but its showing that it needs to be refilled?? I just hooked it up to its first keg, can't imagine its truly empty? Are those gauge readings accurate? It is putting gas to the keg

Is the tank inside a kegerator or fridge? If so, that will cause the high-pressure gauge to read low. Otherwise, you may have a leak.

As mentioned the high pressure gauge shows the pressure in the tank, which is a function of temperature not how much liquid CO2 is left in the tank. To accurately measure that you need to weigh the tank and then subtract the tare weight.

Got it, thanks... The tanks in a fridge, so it makes sense now
