I've recently fallen in love with Clown Shoes Beers. If you haven't had the pleasure go now and pick up as many bottles as you can. After all that said I would really like to clone the Eagle Claw Fist Imperial Amber Ale and the Hoppy Feet 1.5 Double Black IPA. I have no clue where to begin. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Their website will give you a pretty good idea of the malts and hops used and the bottles give you the abv. Start there and experiment with some brewing SW, you should be able to get pretty close on the first try. After that, it's trial and error until you're happy with it.

I actually looked at the website and thought it was pretty vague, no mention of actual grain types or hops used.

The OP may try contacting them FMI...a little personal email might be all that is needed to get an actual recipe...the reality is that recipes are as unique/special as some make them out to be.

no doubt, experiment! my black ipa is just ipa plus black, we shall see- roasty ipa like clown shoes? hopefully.
