Cleaning out Bowl between brews?

Is there any process of preparation between brews?

Thanks.

I was curious about this as well. The first couple batches I made I would use soap and water first and then wash with vinegar. But now I just leave my SCOBY in the container, fill my jars and then re-fill the SCOBY with fresh tea/sugar mixture. Seems to be okay but I would love know if I am doing something wrong.

I only do a thorough cleanout every 3 months, and I've been continuous fermenting for almost 2 years. I also only peel off old scoby layers once a year, unless someone needs a starter. Kombucha is a very robust and resilient culture, it can handle a lot of abuse. Don't worry too much, just do what you think is best. Worst case is you're out some tea and time.

I batch brew and I only rinse out when the final product starts to get too cloudy for my liking. Maybe every 5-6 batches.
And by rinse, I mean rinse, I blast it with hot water and slosh it around. I don't think I've done a thorough clean of the fermenters since my first brew years ago, no infections and good brews ever since.
