I just got a bunch of new SS 3 piece ball valves in the mail today. I took one apart to give it an initial soak in PBW before I put it to use. While taking it apart I noticed the ball had some grease on it. I'm assuming that the grease isn't food grade.

My question is:
Should I take care to remove all that grease and use keg lube instead? Or is this a RDWHAHB situation?

If you have any concerns, give them a good cleaning. Eliminates any problems down the road (i.e. contamination, etc). I would say that it is a good practice to clean any "new" hardware prior to using it with brew.

Just my two cents.
