I'm about to start fermenting in Sanke kegs. I made a DIY version of the fermentation cap that BH sells (got the idea from them).

I have been concerned about this as well. I've heard that just a good dose of PBW and hot water does wonders. I haven't put this to the test yet.

I was a jerk and posted this in a couple of forum topics. one said that OxyClean is great for this. I have PBW, are either one okay for the stainless?

I use OxyClean and a pond pump CIP like device.

There's an article in BYO. I know I saw that project in the DIY forum first but can't find the thread.

I just rinse several times. Fill with water and some oxyclean. I let it sit till my next brew day. anywhere from 1 day to a couple of weeks. Then I dump it and and I use my cooling water from the wort chiller to rinse it out real well. Then some starsan and I am good to go.

Been doing this for about 2 years and never had a problem.
