i have a cooler thatr has a lot of stains inside a has a funky smell to it. I was wanting to know if there is any way of cleaning it good for use in all grain brewing. I am on a tight budget so if i could use this it would be great.

I scrubbed a nasty old cooler w/ ajax or comet, rinsed repeatedly with very hot water and aired it out for a few days...looked like new.

The good oxiclean I've found on the laundry/cleanser aisle at the supermarket. The one with the green lid, Oxiclean Free. No perfumes or bleaches. About 8 bucks or so.

Definitely use the Oxi, but a lot of problems arise for storing containers with their lids on while still damp.

After washing let it air dry, preferably in the sun. The sun will also "clean" the odors out after a good washing.

I stack my buckets (with lids on, not inside each other), but I don't do it until they have been air dried at least 24 hours. It keeps the odors at bay. :D

Wal-Mart has "Sun-Free", which is the cheap no name brand of Oxyclean. It is cheap and does a great job of cleaning just about anything we use to brew with. Just make sure you rinse and let dry!

Good point I use Sun too. It's the same thing, only cheaper. I call it oxi clean for easy reference.
